Crosslinks Welcomes new Kenyan Primate and Thanks Archbishop Wabukala on his retirement
Crosslinks Statement on the Retirement of the Most Revd Eliud Wabukala as Primate of the Anglican Church of Kenya and the Election of Rt Revd Jackson Ole Sapit as the Sixth Primate of the Anglican Church of Kenya
On behalf of the trustees, staff and colleagues connected with Crosslinks (formerly BCMS), I am writing to express our profound gratitude to Archbishop Eliud Wabukala for his years of service with the ACK, most recently as Primate. It was my privilege to meet him in 2000 when I was paying my first visit to Kenya after my appointment and he was notable for the warm welcome that he gave me. By God’s grace we have continued to maintain a warm relationship, with the consecration and collation of Bishop Rob Martin to the Diocese of Marsabit, the appointment of Canon Charles Raven as his adviser for Anglican Communion affairs, and our connections through GAFCON and AMiE. We thank him and wish him and Mama Wabukala a long and fruitful retirement.
It gives me great pleasure on behalf of the same people named above to congratulate Archbishop-elect Jackson Ole Sapit on his election as the next and sixth Primate of ACK. We have had contact in the past and we look forward to serving alongside him in the cause of the gospel in the months and years to come.
Yours in Christ,
