Black activist berates CofE for wrong priorities and racism

From AnglicanMainstream.org:

Chaka Artwell is a member of the Church of England and works as a journalist, campaigner and DJ. Of Caribbean descent, he has stood as an independent candidate for Oxford East, has organised Oxford Black History Month, and recently led a campaign for awareness of children in the Congo working as miners for metals used by the Apple computer company.

In an open letter, sent recently to Church of England Bishops, he accuses the C of E leadership of colluding in “exposing young children to the propaganda of …Stonewall” under cover of tackling “homophobic bullying”, while ignoring the much more serious problem of “English-born people of Caribbean heritage with mental health issues”. Referring to the conflict between Western liberal culture and orthodox Christian faith that is dividing the Anglican Communion, he says that the C of E leadership is “prepared to destroy the unity of the Anglican Family worldwide in order to follow the instructions of Stonewall”, and concludes: “This reveals that the white leaders regard the black Christians as inferior, and treat them without respect.”
