Remembering JI Packer Live Interview
On July 17 James Innell Packer was promoted to Glory. Many of us have revisited or perhaps learned for the first time why there was such a groundswell of affection and respect given to him. For 93 years Jim graced us with his writing, speaking, teaching, and presence; there has been a cumulative impact that will take more than one article or posting to fully unpack. For this reason, Gafcon hosted a special, Everyday Global Anglicans, Facebook Live tribute to Dr. Packer on Wednesday, July 29. We were privileged to be joined by the following guests:
- Archbishop Ben Kwashi, Gafcon General Secretary
- Rector David Short, St John's Anglican Church in Vancouver (JI Packer's church)
- Dr. Leslie F Thyberg, Trinity School for Ministry
- The Rev Dr Joel Scandrett, Trinity School for Ministry
They share precious memories about him, his ministry and their work with him, but most of all his love for the Lord and his people.
