Transforming lives in sub-Saharan Africa in partnership with local churches
To mark South Sudan’s Ninth Independence Day on July 9th, Anglican International Development put out a live broadcast featuring Archbishop Justin Badi and work with the Episcopal Church of South Sudan in Microfinance, Sanitation, Training Health Professionals and Church Strengthening. Tabitha Muthui the AID Projects Officer was live from Nairobi, and a message of support was received from Baroness Caroline Cox.
AID was founded at the same time as South Sudan emerged as an independent nation following the GAFCON Jerusalem Conference in 2008 to assist faithful but dependent Anglican Provinces such as South Sudan which could not in good conscience accept funds from Anglican Provinces that did not follow Anglican and biblical orthodoxy.
