The Anglican Church in Brazil and the Diocese of Recife have announced that Revd. Márcio Simões and Revd. Márcio Medeiros Meira are to be ordained and consecrated as missionary bishops.

The ceremony will be conducted by The Right Revd. Miguel Uchôa Cavalcanti, Bishop of Recife, with proceedings due to begin at 10am, Saturday June 10th 2017.

Please give thanks and pray for this ceremony. Pray also that Revds. Simões and Meira would discharge their duties in such a way that the authority of scripture is upheld and that the true gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed throughout the Diocese of Recife and beyond.

The Diocese of Recife is part of the Gafcon movement, and was launched on 12 March 2016 with over 60 pastors and more than 45 congregations. It is led by Bishop Miguel Uchoa Calvacanti.
