Bishop Laurent Mbanda was yesterdat elected Primate of Rwanda. He will succeed Archbishop Onesphore Rwaje, who is retiring this year.

Bishop Mbanda has been a supporter of Gafcon since attending the inaugural conference in Jerusalem in 2008. He also attended the Gafcon Primates Council in 2016.

Gafcon offers its congratulations to The Rt. Revd. Mbanda, and looks forward to working with him to promote the true gospel of Jesus Christ and uphold the authority of scripture.
